Pfizer supports Sutent for gastrointestinal stromal tumors, malignant and metastatic renal cell carcinoma

Pfizer Inc announced today that it has filed a new drug for cancer medicine SU11248 (sunitinib), known as Sutent, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Pfizer is to obtain FDA approval for Sutent in the treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumors, malignant and metastatic renal cell carcinoma patients whose tumors do not respond or can not tolerate standard treatment options.
